[pct-l] So. Calif. NF Fire Danger Levels

Today, the Angeles NF and the San Bernardino NF raised their
Fire Danger Levels to "Very High" from "High". As far as I can tell,
this change means two things:

1)	Wood and charcoal fires are not allowed, even in developed
campgrounds. Gas and propane campstoves are still allowed.
As always, there is no mention of advanced solid-fuel stoves,
such as Esbit stoves, on these Web sites, and the presumption
is that they are not approved for use in these areas.

2)	Access may be restricted to areas of the forest. A local
Forest Service office should be contacted before entry.
(This is always a good idea, anyway, if a bit impractical
at times due to lack of 24/7 service.)

The Angeles NF has "Very High" on its home page, but the
detailed link is to the "High" press release of July. The San
Bernardino NF Web site says "High" on its home page, but the detailed
link says "Very High". The Cleveland NF is holding at a "High" Fire
Danger Level, according to their Web site and their front desk
(858-673-6180).
