Oh yeah... I felt sorry for him and he seemed like a nice guy. But at
the same time I still have the feeling he wasn't playing with a full deck...
Know what I mean? But then, I could probably say the same thing
about myself.

I hung back behind him for a bit, encouraging him on, I kept telling him
"you're almost there!".
Poor guy. He was hurting. I was off the ridge as he was maybe 40 yards
from the top...
I didn't want to think of how hard his descent was going to be...those
switchbacks were steep.
...and those granite steps....
I was glad to be at the bottom by the time I got there.
Remember that guy, Erik?

Oilcan, I'm shocked...
you could have simply told him that "he was much higher than he was
before", or even lied about it and made him rfeel comfortable in that he
only needed to ascend a mere 40 more feet 'according to your GPS'...
Oh the humanity!
>But as I came up behind him, passed him, and hiked ahead, he asked me
>this question (yelling it the last time) no less than four times...
>He'd take a few steps and ask what elevation he was NOW at...poor >guy.
