[pct-l] Home safe and sound

Hi all.

I last posted back in January that I was hoping to attend the
ADZPCTKO this year. Unfortunately, I was unable to attend because...
well... I was in Iraq when I wrote that post, and if there's one
thing you can count on in the military, it's for the military to
screw up your plans. I'm sorry I missed out on what, based on the
accounts I've read, was a great time had by all in attendance. I'm
just glad I wasn't also planning to thru-hike this year. That's
probably a good thing, though, because I'd be trying to figure out
how to manage a flip-flop, like so many others are doing right now.
(Jeez, go away for a year and the weather turns to crap!)

I was released from active duty last week after spending a few weeks
at Ft. Lewis, WA getting some very minor ailments checked out. I made
it home safe and sound, with all my fingers and toes, and all my
soldiers are healthy too. I can't say the same for my dear, departed
laptop which was destroyed during a mortar attack. May it rest in
pieces - Literally. All in all, everything is great, especially being
back in the States where no one is shooting at me (except the gang-
bangers in South Central. Sorry - I flew into LAX when I came home.
That was a rude homecoming!).

Anyway, I just wanted to drop a quick note to all on the list to say
thank you for the kind words, thoughts and gestures that were sent my
way when I posted back in January. I don't know many of you very
well, but the outpouring of support was overwhelming, unexpected and
heartwarming. Thank you all.

Well, it's bedtime for me (Extended vacations lead to late nights for
some reason). See you all here on the list - and at Kickoff 2006!

Warmest regards,

Greg Bell
