It is not uncommon after reasonable period of time were a Search and Rescue  
become a Search and Recovery. Very often the media announces this so we need 
not  be hard on any one's comments.
 
Very often one's instincts of the Horse to the Barn syndrome comes into  play 
when hiking. Perhaps the expression Hike high Camp low comes into  play 
causing one to take more chances to reach a low camp.. One could go on and  on 
wonderig "If only" so lets forget that. about the red flags. Now is the time  to 
hope and pray
