[pct-l] enlighten me

I haven't done all of California so I don't know which one is the easiest,
but I think either Section K or J would be a good starting section. If you
do K from Donner Summit to Echo Lake, I think there is only one stiff climb,
Dick's Pass, and that is near the end of your trip. This section, especially
at the north end, features good views both east and west including views of
Lake Tahoe. (It also has a number of convenient bail-out locations, e.g.
Squaw Valley or Barker Pass, if you decide this isn't for you.) Section J is
very nice, if not as spectacular for views. Again, I think it is a little
easier from north to south. No good bail-out locations.

Either one can be completed in less than two weeks -- more like a week. Two
weeks worth of food is a lot to carry. If you do the two together, you can
resupply at the store at Echo Lake.

Have fun,

Phil
