[pct-l] Giving Back

BTW, this is the same group that we are establishing the first PCTA Youth
Outreach Program. Thus if you were to participate in this, you can officially
take on the "PCT Ambassador" title if you plant just one PCT seed into any of
the boy's minds.

If you have had any consideration of this at all, take this one thing with
you; the first 20 minutes with these inner city youth will likely be more
intimidating than going over Forester Pass on May 3rd in a whiteout, with a 20
foot wall of solid, vertical ice at the pass!

Incredibly more rewarding also, once you get past the first twenty minutes!
;-) You will find that these are young boys yearning to be set free but tied
down and forced into early testosterone manhood by their environment.

My first twenty minutes were such.

The Pyles Boys Camp is looking for 20 to 50 mature adults, 21 years or
older,
to go out on 5 day wilderness backpacking trips with inner city youth (12 -
16 years old) in the southern Sierra this summer. You must be experienced
backpackers, a problem solver and familiar with the Pyles program and
willing to
be subject to a thorough background search. They do not expect you to be a
leader but merely to interject anywhere you may see a problem erupting. One
such
person per group is needed and there will be a camp counselor with the group
to lead.

Contact Sean "Beaver" McEnulty, executive director via email
(beaver@pylescamp.com) or by phone (661-294-1394) and go to
www.pylescamp.com for more
information.

Best regards,
