[BULK] - [pct-l] 1977

Nothing wrong. My point was that with all the resources you've
mentioned, a thru-hike is more accessible to people.
It must have taken quite a bit of courage to commit to a thru-hike
without all the support today's thru-hikers have.
Between the publicity and increased support, I suspect more people learn
about the PCT and say to themselves "I can do that!".
Thus the increase in numbers and the increased pressure on those very
resources. It is what we've created. And to quote Martha Steward - "And
that's a good thing."

I think the purpose of ADZ and the trail angels is to support the
thru-hikers and to help them share that "Great Experience".

But they'll never have as good of a soundtrack as y'all had in `77....

Hey, what is so wrong with 1977?? We made it without the internet,
trail angels, water caches, ultra-light gear, town guides, etc. And it
was a great experience.

If the Thru-hikers didn't have the support of non-thru hikers, it'd be
1977 all over again and less people would be able to thru-hike!
