[pct-l] Jonathan Breem's 1998 Journal...

In '98, it seems that hikers were hung up here for an inordinate amount of time, wrangling with this choice -- should I hike or should I skip now? (to the tune of "Should I Stay or Should I Go" by the Clash).

I'd be happy to help with transportation logistics if the snow levels dictate that necessity. I've been impressed and intrigued by the Green Tortoise since they dropped a hiker (near) here years ago. Perhaps, too, groups of hikers could pitch in on renting passenger vans for a one-way trip. On the information kiosk here we have posted public transit information from here to far northern California, and I'm sure we can piece together information for what's offered in WA and OR.

In fact, let's just make it a plan and spread the word -- this seems like a logical place to make reservations for pick up, if indeed the questionable conditions continue. This is something we can help with, if that's what the hikers need.

Thanks, good article. Perhaps it's time to call the Green Tortoise (again).

With such a large group attending the ADZPCTKickOff it may very well be a
good idea for someone to take names with the idea of chartering a bus (or 2) to
do a flip from KM. At less than $150 per hiker it would be well worth it, and
fun. Maybe a firm commitment and deposit could be made by Donna's.
