[pct-l] Re: pct-l Digest, Vol 23, Issue 25

Good evening, Josh,

HEET is alcohol. It is sold as gas line antifreeze because alcohol has a
great affinity for water. Gas lines freeze because any water that may enter
the tank will not mix with the gas but will collect in a low spot in the
fuel line and freeze to shut off the fuel flow. The alcohol collects the
water and moves it through with the gas. Not many people want to buy a
quart or a gallon of alcohol at the hardware store for gas dryer. It is
easier to buy a small jug of HEET once in a while.
