I presume you mean "bacon" and not "back."  I didn't cook the bacon,
but bought pre-cooked bacon crumbles (not the soybean-based Baco-bits):

A single package lasted about a week.  I think the meat was an
important addition to the morning meal.

So the Esbit only heated the cooking water.  Two cups brought to a boil.
One poured off to make coffee.  Into the remainder I'd toss cereal,
sugar, milk and bacon, then simmer until done.  The Esbit provided just
enough heat to boil, then return to boil after the cereal was added.
