Speaking of itineraries, reminds me of an ill-fated backpack in Grand 
Tetons National Park in the early 70"s. We got our wilderness permit 
which specified which campsite at which campground we could camp at each 
night. At the first campsite, there were short posts with a letter on it 
to desiginate the site. Due to bad weather and lack of equipment and 
experience for the weather,  we bailed after the first night. This trip 
ended a supposedly good friendship also.  Still glad I did the trip.
