[pct-l] ski poles as trekking poles?

Ski poles work fine. Broom sticks work good too.
Weight carried in your hands is unrelated to pack
weight so long as you do not strap your poles onto
your pack. The limit to how much pole weight you
should carry is directly related to your arm strength.
My Black Diamonds weigh over a pound each. One is the
Whippet with an ice axe built into it. On the other I
have a small roll of duct tape and have made a carrier
for my tent steaks.
