[pct-l] north OR / south WA sections



The Wallowas are most excellent! However, they don't really
resemble the Alps. They are a weird, but beautiful mixture
of granite and volcanic rock. And if you stay away from the
Lakes Basin area you'll have few other hikers to contend with.
I recommend them highly - but they are a good long day's
drive from Portland.
