[pct-l] Re: Vapor Trail Straps

the straps wouldnt hold
Does anybody know of a quick fix if the straps stop holding.

I loved mine below 25 lbs.

How to Fix:

Call Diane Baumgarden at Granite Gear 218.834.6157
Tell her you need "Triglides" for your Vapor Trail.
She'll send you two plastic clips, one mounted on a piece of strap as a
demo so you can put them on yourself. Free as a warranty issue.

She's not exactly sure what causes the slipping, but it might be body oils
from sweat. It's the distance hikers that get this problem. (Stinky,
grimey, mangey hiker trash)

She says some people have washed off the straps with
Dr. Bronners soap.
(I'd want to use a grease cutting soap.)

Better, if I got another Vapor Trail,

Brake part cleaner

($2.00 at Walmart).
Caution: Shield it from dripping on to anything you might want to stay
water resistant. It may do damage to silnylon and silicone coatings. If
your skin's dry from hiking it makes it much worse around those deep dry
cracks. Lots more cautions on the can. Great carpet stain remover....if
the carpet doesn't fall apart.
