The "Pineapple Express" (aloha!) is melting the snow in the Cascades.  But  
the snow remains deep in the Sierra.  Could, of course, yet go either way  
in either place by season's end.  Here in the Bay Area we're expecting  
rain late this weekend, which'll likely mean more snow in the Sierra.

The upcoming storm for here is swinging down from the Gulf of Alaska, so  
will be cold inland.
