The San Gabs still look great, even with the west face snow level
relatively high!

I flew into Ontario from Sacramento yesterday morning. If you haven't
flown this route, it's over the Palmdale/Lancaster desert, southbound,
and aligns up with the airport by banking over the Cajon Pass, Arrowhead
and San G areas. Yesterday, just before our approach, I got a great view
of the Northeast side of the San Gabs and San Bernardinos. The snow
drops very low near the desert floor. The Deep Creek area looked buried!

Here's a view from my office window here in Irvine. (Damn building
across the street blocks the view of Baldy...)

Ah, the clouds have lifted and the San Gabriel Mountains are now in
plain, beautiful view, and having had 17 inches of rain in the past 15
days, you would expect to see a ton of snow, but alas, the rain was warm
and melted off most of the snow.  The snow line on the southern side
appears to be at about 7,000 or 8,000 feet.  The north facing side is
undoubtably heavier.

Hold all of the snow predictions until the fat man (Tom Reynolds) sings!
