[pct-l] Independent Hiking & Trail Angels

Next time at Echo Lake it's straight to Southshore Inn. They are extremely
hiker friendly. EVERYTHING including inexpensive big grocery store, big
name casinos with AYCE buffets, and an outfitter are an easy walk. The
owner, Ziggy, does your laundry. There's usually a number to call on the
board there. Ziggy (Southshore inn) drives 26 miles uphill to pick you up
and gives hikers a discount on rooms. On the weekends, however, he needs
to charge more. Even with a discount, and he warns you, it's still high.
He gives you a ride way uphill back to the trail head.
Wonderful people, comfortable in all ways, and a great thru-hiker
experience.
One I'm going to repeat in 2005.

VVR---------------------------------------- find the secret hiker box.
Free bed. Bring lots of cash to resupply or eat. Very nice
people.........expensive but no frills.
