Wow, I haven't seen that one yet, and I am glad.  I have had similar 
problems on two occasions with horses that are turned loose to graze at 
night.  Once at Simpson meadow and once at Purple Lake.  My llamas were 
picketed about 40'  from my tent, and a bunch of loose horses came into 
camp in the middle of the night and started pushing the llamas around.  
A horse is three times the size of a llama and a horse can kill a llama 
with one swift kick.  It took us about 30 minutes of yelling and 
rock-throwing to drive the horses out of camp in each instance. 
I try to avoid camping near horse camps, but sometimes they are so 
well-hidden you don't know they are there until they come charging in at 
4 a.m.
