[BULK] - Re: Re: [pct-l] bicycles
Hi Mike I just remembered an incident that happened a couple of weeks ago.
We were on our "Docent" class up at Santa Rosa Plateau Ecological Reserve.
We were in three vans going to the Falls in San Mateo canyon, as we were
leaving we were doing about 15mph down that very hilly and windy road. This
guy on a bike went by us like we were going backward, about a half mile
ahead there is this USFS truck in the middle of the road and the Ranger is
behind the truck looking over the side into the bushes. Ya you guessed it
the guy on the bike ran smack into him and went right over the hood bike and
all and into the bushes. We sat there for three hours while the Ranger
called the Medical Aid. First CDF fire truck then USFS fire truck then a
another USFS truck with a Supervisor then CHP then AMR (the ambulance) then
another CDF fire truck. Yes everyone of them had to mike a report and
question us as to what we saw. Which was the guy on the bike was going fast.
Oh by the way, Why was the Ranger in the middle of the Road you ask? The
road is barely wide enough for one vehicle and he wanted to find out who had
opened the gate because it was suppose to have been closed. It was already
opened when we came through. Guess who opened the gate?

I triggered nerves. Now there are people who hate and fear me, you don't
need to. The first post on this thread was intended to learn what the
rules were, not as a threat. I do not intend to break any rules. When I
was told of the rules against bikes I expressed disagreement which was
interpreted as attempted hostility. If it were I'd still be going on
about it and throwing out insults, etc.
So you can rest assured that I am no threat, so you can put down the
weapons and turn off the alarm. :-)
