[pct-l] Dress Me Up & Pack Me Out - Sleeping Bag/System

Aloha
Great, I hope it's helpful.
Now I need to add on 6 sections of a z-rest for a sleeping pad I forgot to
include................6 ounces.
Revised weights are 2#9oz., 2#14oz, 4# for the three versions of my
complete sleep system.

You're getting the Lunar Solo?? Great! I just heard about it last
month.............24ozs........... I hear it keeps the bugs off, my main
reason for a tent, and has room for gear.
I've seen internet pictures but they don't give me any understanding of
where the inside is relative to the outside, where the door is relative to
the inside, or the what it looks like vestibule open vs. vestibule closed.
I contacted Ron, the designer, but he says there are none in Southern
California to look at. I'm going to buy one to use for Oregon and
Washington next year... Soon, maybe now. He's got a good deal on them right
now. I love my Europa II and I'll save it for when I hike with my
girlfriend. Solo hiking??? HALF A POUND LESS and it keeps the mosquitos
off.

Bag temperature.............................the silnylon bivy cover.
I'm old too. The reason I was able to go to lighter bags. Clothing layers
and the 6oz bivy cover. When I use a tent it counts as 6 more ounces
toward bag weight, however it adds the warmth of a heavier lower degree
bag. When I use a tarp it's made to also serve as my ground cloth. There I
save the ground cloth weight, get the warmer temperature, keep my bag
clean, and protect me and my bag from rain that might spray under the tarp.
Temperature wise, even with ice on the tent, below freezing, I was still
not cold when others with heavier bags were freezing. (That is also due to
the four layers of clothing I used........also lightweight)

Sleep Naked? Hot nights I've slept between the top of my bag and the bivy.
Has a half zip down the side.
Cold nights? Like a heavier bag.

I'll be at the KickOff too. If for nothing else, there's lots of free
food!!................Just kidding. There's plenty happening there.
Maybe we'll see you there.
