[pct-l] RE: pct-l Boots

IMO, boots are for ice and snow. But that's for me,
everyone will have a different view. I own a pair of
Asolo light hikers that I hate, I also own a pair of
La Sportiva Glaciers that are great for light
mountaineering, and I own a pair of Koflach plastic
boots for cold weather mountaineering.

For hiking, I choose either trail running shoes or
approach shoes (or sandals for lighter hikes). My last
two pairs have been: Salomon XA-Pro and a pair of New
Balance running shoes. The XA's are great, but for the
price, the $30 running shoes are far better in the
long run. For all dayhikes and some short trips I use
my Tevas.

And I have ONLY gotten blisters with boots.
