One mistake with any stove can start a conflagration, not just alcohol
stoves. Personally, I've never had a problem finding a rock or a bare piece
of mineral earth on which to cook. It ain't rocket science.

I'd recommend you steer clear of the alcohol stoves for one very important
reason..... FIRE without experience camping here in the very dry conditions,
where one mistake can start a conflagration, endangering not only yourself
but other hikers, nearby homes and firefighters.

Don't know for sure about the stove connection, I use a Primus 3273 Titanium
Cook Stove and uses Gigapower, Coleman, Primus, and MSR, 70% Butane / 30%
Propane Canisters. Just don't leave the stove screwed on as the fuel might
leak out. You'll have to be sure to regularly send cansters along as they
might be difficult to find, an esbit stove might be a better choice for a
backup as it doesn't have liquid fuel to spill or leak.

 'Idyllwild' = idle-wild
`Agua Dulce` is spanish for `Sweet Water` ag ua dull say
`Tulomne` Tul O men knee
