[pct-l] Stehiken Bus Shuttle Service

 If only folks knew how hard the residents fought to keep their homes in Stehekin and upper valley when they were " Sucked" into the North Cascades Rec. Area. ( It wasn't out of the kindness of the NPS's heart that they got to stay.) 
  The Stehikin Valley Wars are now past with the NPS and the Courtney Bros. firmly entrenched in their own lines. ( For now) . Tom runs the barge on the lake that takes three days for a round trip. His family runs the bakery ( which we all stop at) and the river rafting service. 
  Other Brother runs a great Dude ranch 9 miles up valley from Town with horseback riding, camping cabin.,etc. All hikers need to stop in for their " Cowboy" dinner or breakfast which the public can sign up for.
  All the building they did themselves and are one of the most hard working family in America. They were featured in National Geo. Mag. in 1974 with their log school house and the Bros. were boys in the school.
     Old Buckner Orchard supplies Stekinen with it's fall apple crop from trees that are the last of their kind in many varieties . 
  Park Service is now not going to run their shuttle?? Hard to believe?? ( Follow the money trail, it never lies)
