[pct-l] Mt Hood trail September

Late September around Mt. Hood is superb. The worst of the summer's
heat is
past, few mosquitoes will be seen, there should be no snow pack on the
trail, and the streams and rivers will be about as low as they ever get
which means good fording.

I agree with Steel-Eye that September is the best month for hiking the
Cascades, but be aware that by late September the weather starts to get
a little unreliable. You could have a week of absolutely gorgeous
weather, or you could have a week of straight rain. It's just really
hard to say well in advance. The odds are still in your favor, though
if you have the ability to be somewhat flexible in you starting date,
that would be helpful.
