[pct-l] a prayer

Yesterday I met Eric (no trail name) on the PCT just south of Red's Meadow.  He said he started on April 12.  Today I met Leprechaun, who was at the ADZ, and saw another hiker who Leprechaun identified as (I think) Mr. Beer.  Leprechaun reported that there was still lots of snow on the north side of the big passes, but he says that timing is the key (not too icy, not too soft).  He had no ice ax and was wearing running shoes.  He also said that the stream crossings weren't too bad (Evolution Creek was knee deep).
I was doing some trail maintenance in honor of National Trails Day.  It was lots of fun and I met some great folks.  I sure do have a bigger appreciation for all those trail maintainers.  It's hard work!
