Dogs were an integral part of the greatest backpacking trip ever, the voyage
of the Corps of Discovery featuring Lewis and Clark. An integral part of the
menu, that is. Unbelievably, after spending time along the Columbia, the men
grew tired of salmon (?!?!?) and began to trade with the tribes for dog to
eat.
