[pct-l] Hiking the trail with your dog

To say that no dog likes long distance hiking seems as much an overstatment as saying no human likes thru hiking.  How many people in the most overwieght country in the world would like to thru hike the PCT? A VERY small percentage.  Yes, some people try to take dogs on long hikes and learn that their dog dosen't like it.  Certainly, owners have to be aware of their dogs and watch their dogs physical and emotional condition.  

I feel sorry for those that suggest that it is impossible for a human to have a close enough connection to an animal to know what that animal wants.  Obviously, they have never had that connection and have missed out on something incredible.
