Hi,  I'm a member of the pct-l mailing list as well as a member of the Pacific Crest Trail Association, and a 30-year backpacker on the PCT.  You could get a thousand .jpg files for your article by PCT hikers within a week instead of setting up a fake photo opportunity on the Eagle Creek Trail outside of Portland.   The pictures would cover the width and breadth of the trail, from the desert in Southern California, the High Sierras in early season, the pain of Northern California, finally the challenge of Washington State.  It could also play up the problem nature has thrown to PCT hikers with last October's record rainfall in Washington, a weekend of rain that wiped out nearly 30 miles of the most rugged section of the northern part of the trail.   Post a desire for pics and you will be flooded.   Best wishes,   john randall
