Re: keeping the bugs out You might want to rig up some sort bug netting where you can use it with or without the Betamid. On the PCT there will be many nights where the weather is good but the bugs are bad. It's much nicer to sleep out instead of inside a tent. I like the Adventure 16 Bug-bivy, but you can't do much but sleep in it. It's probably the lightest option, however. Kent.
