My previous note regarding the problem in Washington
State in section wasn't meant as a
look-at-the-PCT-Communicator and join the PCTA
problem.  The Forest Service has no money for bridge
construction.  In fact, they haven't done an initial
evaluation because it's winter.  You can assume
section K will be closed by nature.  There will be NO
bridges to cross the rivers.  What are your plans?  
If I was the Forest Supervisor, I'd put a Closed Until
Further Notice sign at the Stevens Pass trailhead. 
Hike at Your Own Risk!  In fact, what is the PCTA
planning to do for its 2004 thruhikers?  Regardless of
choice, a re-route is a bugger.  What is the PCTA's
opinion?
