[pct-l] Gear list

Some brain doodles (I am avoiding work this morning) for you:

 - I bought a hand-held fish scale and weigh my loaded pack with that.
Not extremely precise but gives you a ballpark figure. I don't weigh my
pack often.
 - Watch: Suunto X6 (deluxe) or Vector (budget) serves as a
watch/compass/altimeter. Very reliable.
 - Bandanas make good washcloths and dry quickly. They also double as
good handkerchiefs. Why bring 3 when you can probably get away with 1?
 - I like to hike in running shorts that can double as a bathing suit in
town as needed. However, I usually bathe au-natural in the backcountry.
 - You might want a headlamp or some means to attach your photon light
to your hat. Many people like to get up before sunrise or hike into the
dark in the desert.

Kent.
