Please leave bowser at home. He's a good dog. He doesn't need his pads shredded with the sharp rocks, nor burned with the hot sand. Unlike humans, when a dog wants to drink, it needs to drink--now. There are untold number of ill-will things that can happen to dogs on the trail, mainly from critters that house dogs aren't used to seeing. Awareness, or not, it's not a good idea to take a dog on the PCT.
