[pct-l] gps / gis for pct path?



I think he's looking for a GIS shape file rather than just GPS coordinates.
I haven't seen one, but would expect the feds have it. Not sure how you go
about getting one, though.

I also know that Topo! has a GPS interface module, so if you have the trail
in Topo! format that might work. Tom has posted the trail in California on
Topo!'s MapXchange, although it's not 100% accurate.

GIS is a neat toy. During the recent fires in So Cal, I needed a map of the
fire perimeter for work. (We're a local government.) I walked into the GIS
trailer in fire camp and walked out with a floppy disk with the files needed
to plot the fire on the maps in our office.
