[pct-l] pct closures in WA.

There is NO TRAIL from the Napeequa to high Pass and thence to Buck Creek
Pass, It is considered a "high route". The forest service was going to put
a trail through there and built one from Buck creek Pass to High Pass but
it stops there. I have been in there climbing and it would not be a bad
place for a trail as the rainfall and slopes are not prohibitive.

You can hike from White Pass into The White River, over Boulder Pass down
into the Napeequa, over Little Giant Pass and down into the Chiwawa, North
through Trinity and then over Buck Creek Pass, traversing Midddle Ridge on
the Miners Creek Trail and hooking up with the PCT on Miners creek just s.
of Suiattle pass. Longer by far.

An alternate to the above ending would be to continue over Cloud Pass to
Lyman Lake and Holden, Then Lucerne and get picked up by the boat ferry and
dropped off at Stehekin

I talked to a F.S. Packer who does the maintenence in that area. He says 5
years to get things back in order.

But as has been pointed out; you can cross the creeks without bridges. It
really depends on the condition of the trail. If the trail itself is washed
out for miles, it will a hard slow go and better to go elsewhere. The
Suiattle would probably be crossable if the weather is not too hot and the
water low. It is just a very silty river in hot weather so you can't see
how deep the water is or the footing. The crossings that I did in the
Sierras were a lot worse.
