[pct-l] digital cameras on the PCT 04

similarly to me, pictures are going to be HUGE for my thruhike in 04.  but i know nothing about photography.  here's a feeler i'm sending out for anyone who knows their stuff:  what should i take with me?  i'm ignorant as to the pros and cons of a manual/digital camera.  keep in mind the obvious essentials:  weight, bulk, fun, control, quality, adaptability.  

what should i use?
