[pct-l] Mt. Lowe

HI , Im a long time lurker who dosnt know how to type well so this is my first post .I do the trail all the time . Its my local spot for getting away for the night . The views of the city are spectacular and I can never get over the contrast of sitting all alone up there and staring at a city of millions only twenty minutes away . Ive never made it to the trail camp so Im sorry but I dont know about water , I would think not though . The trail to the camp is really just a boreing road so I usually just go to the top of the Mtn. or another flat view spot Ive found on the way to the camp . I enter off Mt. Wilson Rd. as in the "101 Hiikes in So Cal" book . Its only like three miles so I just carry my water. Ive always gone up at night or dusk for the sunsets and the whole permit system . I go up at night and come back early in the morning to hopefully miss the ranger and a ticket .(havent got one yet)Or buy a day pass and take my time in the morning . The trail to the camp is EAZY
road . some rocks to trip you up if your not looking but totally doable at night . The trail to the peak is more rocky and well graded but also ok at night with a lite . It never gets too dark up there because of the city . Watch out for falling rocks and steep cliffs and youll be ok . Hope this was what you were looking for . let me know if you need more info .Have fun .Also ,are you doing the railway from Mt. Lowe to Altadena because Ive heard that part of the trail turns to "single track"(biker talk??????) so that might be important.
Hikers,

This is not a PCT question, but since many of you know the Angeles
National Forest, I thought I would try here. I'm trying to find out
about the Mt. Lowe Trail Camp, and if there is water available there?
In addition, I'm considering doing the Mt Lowe Trail at night, and was
wondering the feasibility.

Comments Welcome.
Thanks
Ben Holmes
