I know that I appreciate a rope on the ascent/descent on the upper portion
of Sawtooth Pass. It all depends on the snow conditions. It's short &
steep, and reasonably protectable in early season. In mid- to late season,
it probably becomes an ice chute. That's when I stop being entertained and
go somewhere else. This year it may be traversable well into July??? who
knows???
