[pct-l] re: cell phone?

Supposedly, AT&T has more coverage in the Sierras than any other vendor. Ev=
en so, my ATT phone service was spotty at best from Tuolomne Meadows north =
to Tahoe. My partner's Verizon was almost totally useless, even when we got=
up high. The only service he got was atop the 10,000 foot ridge south of S=
onora Pass. I'm leaving my phone home this summer. The 6 ounces is better u=
tilized by my gps, and I can buy new batteries as needed, which I can't do =
with any cell phone.

Subject: [pct-l] cell phone?

I know this has been addressed but I'm going to ask anyway:

can you get cell phone reception on the JMT? or should we just forget
it and leave it at home?
If you can, is one provider better than another? Verizon vs. Sprint, etc?

Thanks
Grateful Nate
