[pct-l] Shoes for thru-hike?

Patrick,

There is a good possibility you'll be swapping out shoes by the time you hit
Kennedy Meadows. Prior to that you'll be primarily in a desert environment
with only an occasional crossing of snow or wide stream. I'd look for the
most breathable and the least water resistance shoes during this section.
You'll want to allow any moisture build up from sweat to dissipate as
rapidly as possible. Many stop every couple of hours to swap socks and rest
the feet. Also look for shoes that are 1 size larger than you normally
wear. Your feet will swell in the early weeks of your hike.
