[pct-l] Pack Recommendations

--
*******another shameless plug from my favorite Pack maker*****

well, if you have to buy a pack... I highly recomend Osprey. I have
three Osprey packs and they all rock. everytime, i want a new pack
for some new purpoes that I make up, i tell myself that I will try
other packs and see if i can get something other than Osprey.
Invariably, i go through all the packs in the store and try them all
on with weight until there is nothing left but Osprey to try. As
soon as I try on the Osprey, I like it. I have a model that is no
longer made and used it to climb in the Tetons carrying over 80lbs of
camping/climbing gear and it worked GREAT!! It super conforatble.

I even abused the hell out of it and it still performed awesome. I
glissaded down from a pass and hit a huge sun cup and flew about 10
feet up in the air and landed so that the pack took most of the
impact. The result was that the hip belt ripped right off the frame
on the left side. I still had over 80 miles to cover, and honestly,
I swear I have had packs with fully functioning hip belts carrying
much less weight that were less comfortable. When I returned home, I
took the pack to a store that Carried Osprey (not the store where i
bought it) and they sent it to Osprey and replaced the hip belt for
free.

I also have a 2500 c.i. Osprey that only weighs 1lb 9 oz (25 oz). I
use that thing all the time and it totally rocks. I hiked the JMT
with that pack carrying 16 lbs, dry weight.
