I can personally guarantee that the Santa Clara River was REALLY FLOWING
today (drove along Soledad Canyon Road for several miles in Santa Clarita,
about 20 miles south of where the PCT crosses the river at Acton...).  It's
such an amazing thing to watch what's ordinarily a dry wash, or a wash with
a meandering moist trickle turn into a roaring flood.  If this keeps up it
will continue for a few months!
