[pct-l] southbound

i am interested in hiking southbound. it looks like the average start date
from manning park is early to mid july. that only gives the hiker about two
and one half months to clear the sierra before big weather. is this a
difficult accomplishment? i imagine this will take big, big days on a
regular basis to achieve.
