[pct-l] Re: ( Greg , you may be a strong third!!!)

Guys, back off a bit. I don't even come close on the radar screen and have
not done much compared to those that have put years and years of hard work,
money and lobbying towards the PCT. A number of those were mentioned in a
good article by Bob Nida, the current President of the PCTA, in the most
recent Communicator;

- Pete Fish
- Lee Terkelsen
- Alan Young
- Bob Ballou
- Congressman Buck McKeon
- Bud Reid
- Don King
- Bill Hay
- Brent Handley
- Mark Conley
- John Shilling
and every current member of the PCTA board of directors, all of the regional
District Managers, as well as people like Alice Krueper (RIP), Liz Bergeron,
Joe Sobinovsky and many, many others that put in efforts every day.

BTW, if you're not a member of the PCTA and you care in any way about the PCT
then PLEASE join and support their efforts. They use your money; membership,
donations, private grants and your tax dollars in the form of government
grants, in one of the most effective and efficient ways that I've seen a
nonprofit group do.

BTW2, if you're not a PCTA member you're also missing out on the
Communicator. This monthly magazine started out as just a news letter a
couple of decades ago. It is now a beautiful, full color, spectacular
representation of the trail and the people caring for it. It also features a
beautiful, full size, calendar in December with great photography and all of
the PCT shirts, cups, books etc., for sale through the PCT store.

Most of those people mentioned above have decades of involvement and scores
of actions that should be applauded. I stand with you to applaud and join
their fight to try to preserve and protect one of our nation's crown jewels.
