[pct-l] Cabezon



I've got to side with Monte on this one.  

Yes, Cabazon is a nightmare compared to Idylwild, however, as you hike along 
the PCT you will encounter numerous towns like Idylwild, and few like 
Cabazon.  If you are from overseas, or another part of the U.S. or Canada, 
and wish to experience a small piece of ancient California culture, then 
visit and re-supply at Cabazon.  When I visited Cabazon a couple years ago to 
pick up Monte and Pennsylvania Jeff, I found this small, rough town, the post 
office and store (a pretty good one by hiker's standards) to have changed 
little from my memories way back in 1977.  The people are rough, but look 
them in the eye and they will smile back.  They know what you are doing, they 
admire you and believe you to be foolish at the same time.  

Go for the whole spectrum of colors that you will encounter along the trail, 
Cabazon is at one end of this spectrum.
