[pct-l] Keep up with your protein!!

It's better to eat as balanced a diet as possible at all times.

Though bodybuilding is my year-round hobby, I am not in favor of the "mega"
protein bars. Most of these bars try to support ketosis-based diets and, in
stead of sugar, often use Acesulfame (aka Sunette or Sweet One) which is
more dubious than Aspartame (Nutrasweet), in my opinion. However, even if
you don't believe in dubious sweeteners or are invulnerable to toxic
chemicals, most of the protein bars have an ample amounts of saturated
fats, hydrogenated and partially hydrogenated fats (trans fatty acids),
all excellent for promotion of heart disease.

I have, however, seen protein bars at Whole Foods I might eat. These are
low in saturated fats, void of hydrogenated fats and sweetened with sugar
or stevia.

Last year, I saw a lot of MetRx protein bars along side the corn pasta at
Vermilion Valley Resort in the hiker's cache - I didn't see any carb rich
bars in the cache, though. :)
