[pct-l] credibility

One more thing. The NPS should consider what sweeping statements such as
"treat all water," "no fires above 9856.65 feet," and "kill all goats in
Olympic National Park because they are ruining the alpine ecosystem" does to
their credibility when proven alarmist and unnecessary. Certainly makes ME
wonder about required bear canisters! One of my pet peeves was their
misguided policy of ridding the Olympics of goats that they were convinced
were non native. A public outrage precipitated an independent study that
concluded the NPS conclusions to be "Bad science at its worst" and "policy
based on unnecessary alarmism." Kinda put a stake in their credibility heart.
But of course it was their not - as -wise PREDECESSORS who made the
mistakes, not them. Obviously the solution is to let them go ahead and make
their OWN mistakes without public input getting in the way of their plans,
such as required bear canisters being the solution to the bear "problem."
Enough ranting, I gotta get to work.
