I personally always use a propane/butane stove but I don't thruhike. I
assume that you are thruhiking. If so the nymber 1 problem with a canister
stove is the fuel supply. Even if you can solve that problem, if you are
only boiling a couple of cups of water for dinner I think the alcohol stove
is OK.
