[pct-l] LA to San Diego

usually one-way prices for rental cars have an
extra drop-off fee. But not always. Last October,
i rented a mid-size car, one-way, free miles,
picking up at the LA airport and dropping off at
San Diego airport (LAX to SAN) from Alamo Car Rental,
for one day for $65 with no drop off fees. Alamo also
offers a 20% discount to AAA members. Reciprocal
international agreements between various auto-clubs
are common.

The drive can take as little as 2hrs, but traffic/rush
hour can double that, or worse.

Various companies offer shuttle service in vans etc...
between LAX and SAN, and charge $150 and up per person.

One can usually buy cheap second-hand airline tickets
at http://www.sdreader.com/php/key_word.php3 but check
with the airline to make sure the transfer is legitmate.
