[pct-l] Introduction

Hello, My name is John, 
 
I am a Prescott College Grad (1990) , and I'm hoping to gain some knowledge 
about the full route. Could anyone tell me about how much in food and misc. 
costs I can expect for a 6 month trek ? call me average, just a ballpark 
figure.... (not including my gear.) Perhaps some of you could direct me to a 
link or two i havent seen yet. Thanks much. 

Also, Is the southern tip of the trail dangerous? I read somewhere that the 
likelyhood that one can get robbed / hurt ect. is high there. What do people 
do?
