[pct-l] mosquitoes

My solution is to use an aerosol 22% deet and dust my clothes. This works
for me most of the time and appears actually more weight-effective than 99%
jungle juice

Subject: [pct-l] mosquitoes

The bear thing was a distraction for me. My real
interest at the moment is mosquitoes, principally
because they're bothering me right now, but also
because they seem to be the bane of everyone's
existence on the trail. I live in Florida where the
pests are the size of small birds and quite abundant.
At 37, they're not new to me by any means, so I must
be growing increasingly less tolerant.

Here's the problem. I know about deet. Can't stand
it. Can't stand any mutagenic seeping into my pores.
As often as one must apply it on the trail to remain
even remotely sane, it must be an incredible health
hazard.

So . . . has anyone had any success with any product
that does not create two-headed children? I've tried
citronella. The pests laughed at it as they sank into
my skin.

Help, please.

Sara
